CB Richard Ellis to open new Dutch office in Rotterdam

CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) today announced that it will open its fifth office in The Netherlands in April 2010. CBRE will build an additional property team in central Rotterdam to complement its existing network of Dutch offices in Almere (Rietmeijer Huisvestingsadviseurs), Amsterdam, Hoofddorp and The Hague.

As a key market within the European network, the addition of the Rotterdam office strengthens CBRE’s presence in The Netherlands and across the EMEA region, building upon the company’s full-service offering for clients and creating business opportunities both locally and internationally.

Martien van Deursen has been appointed as the new regional director for CBRE’s Rotterdam operations, working closely with the other offices in the country and internationally, across all property disciplines. Van Deursen has been part of CBRE’s Capital Markets team since 2003, first working in the company’s Amsterdam office and, after three years, joining the cross-border Capital Markets team for Europe, Middle East and Africa in London as a senior adviser.

Having also worked as part of CBRE’s German Desk in the UK more recently, van Deursen has significant local and international experience and has advised clients on transactions across the region, including in the Benelux region, France, Spain, Poland and the United Kingdom.

CBRE’s new premises will be located within the Central Post development in Rotterdam’s Central District, the redeveloped former Central Station Post Office. Central Post has been an important component of the redevelopment of the city’s business centre, opening up new real estate opportunities. The office development now also comprises a number of sustainability features, which influenced CBRE’s decision to locate the new office there.

Mike Strong, EMEA Chairman and CEO, CB Richard Ellis, said: ‘In all market conditions, we continue to seek opportunities to expand our presence across Europe in order to better support our clients’ needs and maintain our position as the leading provider of commercial real estate services in the region. The new Rotterdam office complements our existing network in The Netherlands, and adds further force to our local and global proposition.”

Marco Hekman, CEO of CB Richard Ellis in The Netherlands, commented: “CB Richard Ellis is the only real estate advisor in The Netherlands to offer full-service real estate advice for investors, from cross-border strategic advice to interior design. We are delighted to be able to offer this full-service approach to clients from day-1 at our new Rotterdam office, and make use of our international network to provide further value.”
