Geodis becomes new ProLogis customer in Poland

Prologis, a leading global owner, operator and developer of industrial real estate, announced today that it has leased 10,000 square metres of industrial space at Prologis Park Wrocław to Geodis Calberson Polska, a third-party logistics and international transport provider and subsidiary of SNCF (French Railway).

Geodis will use the 10,000-square metre facility as its central warehouse of furniture to be distributed across Poland. Colliers International real estate agency facilitated the transaction. “The availability of warehouse space and the facility location were the decisive factors in our choice,” explained Bogdan Młynarczyk, general director of Geodis Calberson Polska. “Prologis was the only company able to offer a warehouse facility of the required size and adapt it to our needs within just two months of receiving our requirement.”

“This is the first lease agreement signed with Geodis in Poland,” said Ewa Zawadzka, senior leasing manager for Prologis in Poland. “We are proud that the leading provider of logistics and transport services has chosen Prologis as its partner in the development of its pan-European distribution platform. With this transaction, we have demonstrated that we are able to meet the most demanding expectations of our customers.”

”We really enjoyed working with Geodis and Prologis on this assignment. Our team moved smoothly from taking notes on Geodis expectations to choosing the best offer on the market and getting our client prepared to sign the contract,” said Aleksandra Cools, head of Colliers International’s regional office in Wrocław. “Geodis is a dynamic company, well-known in the French market. We do hope that it will be as well-known in Poland.”

Prologis Park Wrocław consists of eight buildings totalling more than 168,000 square metres. The park is located two kilometres away from Wrocław, in the Kobierzyce municipality. With its convenient location near Route E-35 from Wrocław to Prague and A4 highway leading from Berlin to Ukraine, the park is well connected with the rest of the country, and the nearby Wrocław-Strachowice Airport offers connections to most European capitals.

Other customers at the park include Carlsberg, Healthy Food Production, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics Polska, HI-P Poland, JAS-FBG, Kuehne Nagel, MSI Polska, Rohlig Suus Logistics and Wincanton.

Prologis is the largest provider of distribution facilities in the Wrocław region, with the portfolio of four distribution parks (17 buildings) totalling more than 390,000 square metres, representing 64 percent of the local market share. Earlier this year, the company started the development of its fifth park in the Wrocław region with a facility of 20,000 square metres. The total development potential of the newest park is 290,000 square metres of warehouse space.
