Prologis leases 17 500 sqm in Slovakia

ProLogis (NYSE: PLD), a leading global provider of distribution facilities, announced today it has signed a fourth-quarter lease agreement in Slovakia to a global consumer electronics company.

The existing ProLogis customer will now occupy 17,500 square meters at ProLogis Park Galanta-Gán, located in central Slovakia. With this lease, the customer occupies more than 55,000 square meters of distribution space with ProLogis in the United States and Slovakia.

“ProLogis continues to provide high-quality, well-located distribution space to its customers worldwide,” said Ben Bannatyne, ProLogis managing director in Central and Eastern Europe. “Our global portfolio and unwavering commitment to customer service helps our customers expand to new markets, and we are pleased to announce a new lease in Slovakia with a longstanding customer.”

ProLogis Park Galanta-Gán is strategically situated off the D1 highway, approximately 25 kilometers northeast of Bratislava. The park enables quick access to Hungary, Austria, the Czech Republic and Poland, making it a good choice for corporations involved in the warehousing and distribution of consumer products. The park currently comprises three buildings totaling approximately 166,000 square meters of distribution space. Existing ProLogis customers at Park Galanta-Gán include DHL, Tesco and pac-tra.

“This transaction brings our overall leased percentage in Slovakia to 93 percent,” said Martin Polak, leasing manager for ProLogis in Slovakia. “Even through a challenging environment, we are still completing deals in Slovakia. Our best-in-class portfolio, plus Slovakia’s proximity to many major cities in central Europe, makes this an attractive location for our customers as a distribution hub.”

ProLogis is one of the largest distribution space providers in Slovakia with a portfolio comprising three distribution parks, together totaling 387,000 square meters.
