Jones Lang LaSalle Turns Out Lights in 200 Cities for Earth Hour 2012

Office buildings managed by Jones Lang LaSalle and LaSalle Investment Management will go dark for an hour Saturday evening in observance of Earth Hour, the annual campaign led by World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to encourage commitment to action on climate change.

At 8:30 p.m. local time, Jones Lang LaSalle and LaSalle Investment Management offices worldwide will join with thousands of other buildings in turning off non-emergency lighting for an hour, effectively darkening skylines in observance of energy conservation efforts around the world. “Earth Hour reminds us of the importance of energy conservation and sends a powerful message of the need to take action on climate change,” said Lauralee Martin, Chief Operating and Financial Officer of Jones Lang LaSalle. “It is a global initiative that unites our professionals, our clients and the cities where we work and live.”

“Jones Lang LaSalle has participated in Earth Hour every year since the event began six years ago,” said Dan Probst, Chairman of Energy and Sustainability Services at Jones Lang LaSalle. “Our firm is committed not only to observing this event but to go “Beyond the Hour” to make our firm and our clients more energy efficient throughout the year.” In addition to endorsing the campaign through its 200 offices, Jones Lang LaSalle is partnering with clients in hundreds of cities and towns around the globe to help them show their support, while thousands of the firm’s employees are preparing to join the campaign in their own homes. Jones Lang LaSalle manages 195 million square meters of commercial property owned by corporations and investors in 70 countries around the world.
